The Motor Mechanic position at Vertex Industries is a full-time role responsible for carrying out mechanical servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of 4WD vehicles. The role requires a qualified tradesperson with hands-on experience in mechanical systems who can work independently while contributing effectively to a small, skilled workshop team.

The position supports the ongoing delivery of high-quality automotive services, ensuring vehicles are serviced and repaired in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and customer expectations.

Task & responsibilities

• Performing scheduled servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on 4WD vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
• Repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, steering components, and driveline parts
• Conducting inspections to identify worn or damaged components and recommending corrective actions
• Carrying out preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, safely and efficiently
• Maintaining accurate service records and repair documentation
• Complying with workplace health and safety requirements at all times
• Liaising with workshop supervisors and team members to ensure timely job completion

Qualification & experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A relevant trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Demonstrated experience working on 4WD vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship
