We are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join us. As a Mechanic at TLC Auto Centre, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, particularly engines and their mechanical components including transmission, suspension, steering and brakes. Your role includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults in engines and vehicle components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Dismantling, removing, and reassembling engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical components.
• Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts on engines, transmissions and differentials.
• Swapping engines, transmissions and differentials.
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections, to ensure smooth running and compliance with regulations.
• Testing and adjusting mechanical and electrical parts after repair for proper performance and diagnosis.
• Conducting vehicle inspections and providing accurate estimates for repairs.
• Performing tyres fitting and balancing services as required.
• Tests and adjusts mechanical parts after repairs using diagnostic tools and computer-assisted systems to verify proper operation and performance.
• Reassembles engines and vehicle components after repair, ensuring precision fitting and quality control.
• Maintaining accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
• Communicating effectively with clients about required work and providing excellent customer service.
• Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards, manufacturer procedures, and environmental regulations.

Qualification & experience

• Must have at least 2 to 3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
