Task & responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in engines, transmissions, steering, and related systems.
• Remove and disassemble faulty components and inspect for wear and damage.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using appropriate tools and service manuals.
• Conduct scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups.
• Reassemble and reinstall engines and components following repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and computer-based systems to troubleshoot and confirm repairs.
• Conduct roadworthy inspections and advise on required work to meet certification standards.
• Test, calibrate, and fine-tune mechanical parts to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience.
• Sound understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
• Current driver’s licence preferred.
