The Opportunity
We're on the lookout for a proactive and detail-driven Purchasing Officer to join our Planning & Inventory team. In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly by managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and shipment updates. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with international purchasing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about getting things done right – and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise and confirm purchase orders with international suppliers

• Validate Proforma Invoices (PI), including pricing, items, ETD, shipping and payment terms

• Liaise with suppliers to track and update order status, and follow up on discrepancies

• Update ETA/ETD data in our ERP system (Pronto) and maintain accurate shipment records

• Work closely with Accounts Payable to manage deposits and shipping documents

• Manage documentation for goods in transit, including commercial invoices, freight, and customs paperwork

• Resolve warehouse-reported stock issues (over/under supply, damage, returns)

• Coordinate product returns with suppliers and finalise with credit notes

• Assist in freight quote comparison and shipment planning

• Maintain inbox communication with suppliers and logistics partners

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing or supply planning role with exposure to international trade

• Advanced Excel skills (must-have) and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Pronto)

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities

• A self-starter attitude with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
