What will you do as our Automotive Product Director? 

You will be reporting to the CEO of Tembo and will work with the rest of the Tembo management team, providing leadership, innovation, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality automotive products. 

Duties and Responsibilities | What you will be doing for this role? 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies to align with market demands, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
  • Ensure that all automotive products meet industry standards and regulations, leveraging your expertise in technical compliance. 
  • Drive profitability through effective pricing strategies, cost management, and identifying revenue growth opportunities. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market dynamics, conducting market research to identify opportunities and threats. 
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, quality control, and marketing. 
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, collaborating with R&D teams to introduce innovative technologically advance automotive products. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, ensuring that our products meet and exceed customer expectations. 
  • Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality. 
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective marketing campaigns and sales strategies to promote automotive products. 
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with product development, compliance, and market competition. Represent the company in governmental tender activities and regulatory discussions related to automotive products.

 Qualifications and Skills | What we are seeking? 

  • Degree in the automotive field. 
  • With 10+ years of experience in a senior management role 
  • More than 4 years of relevant work experience 
  • With 10+ years of in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, and automotive technologies including technical compliance and regulatory requirements 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. 
  • Experience in driving business growth and profitability. 
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
